Project Name
Constructing a Hybrid Interactive Learning-based Inference Mechanism for Homecare Robots and their Applications for Elderly Users and Patients with Diabetes
Project Intro
Taiwan's population is shifting into an aged society, making the issue of long term care a top concern amongst families. State-of-the-art technologies in artificial intelligence are being developed by the home appliance industry and 3C manufacturers. The products are promoted to the healthcare market in order to help with home care and long term care tasks.
In this project, we propose the idea of integration of an actual situation for healthcare services with a front end, perception-based home robot that is capable of seeing, hearing, and interactively recommending smart activities through the back end deep learning-based inference and decision making mechanism. We will develop time serial module-based deep learning algorithms to improve the performance of a collaborative filtering recommendation system. Also, adding events and seasonal information to the inference procedure to broaden the scope of recommendations, making it a more comfortable environment for elderly care users. Our team integrates research members from NCKU, NCKU Medical School and Hospital with engineers in ASUS Research Center to implement. Current examples are the elderly care and patients with diabetes applications.
