The center, National Science and Technology Council AI Biomedical Research Center at NCKU, is supported by Taiwan’s Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) with fourteen multi-year biomedical AI research projects. It was established on Feb. 12, 2018 in Tainan and covers FOUR MAJOR FIELDS: SMART MEDICINE, SMART HEALTHCARE, SMART BIOTECHNOLOGY AND ETHICS & HUMANITIES.
As the only MOST-supported center situated in Central and Southern Taiwan, it is strongly endorsed by National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) along with many other important universities, hospitals, and research institutes in this area.
Long-term research collaborations of these teams have been redirected towards emerging new AI technologies with biomedical and biotechnological researches. Our ultimate goal is linking the research outcomes to enterprises and promote AI solutions to the market systems for meeting the unmet needs of biomedical societies.
