Dr. Chiu has cross-disciplinary expertise in electrical and electronic engineering, biomedical engineering and information engineering. For the past 20 years, he has been actively engaged in the teaching, research and service of medical care, rehabilitation engineering and technological assistive devices. He has introduced numerous innovative, practical theories and methods, and actively published research results in the fields of biomedical engineering, medical informatics and natural language processing. Over 20 SCI journal articles in related fields and more than 30 domestic and foreign inventions and new patents have been published. He concurrently serves on the Advisory Committee on Patent Litigation of the Judicial Yuan and as Chairman of the Tainan Carepro Association. Former positions include CEO of MOST AIBMRC, ITRI Engineer/Patent Committee Member, and assistant professor in the Dept. of Medical Management at Kaohsiung Medical University.
